For the past 16 years, in both Shelter Island and Cutchogue, I have maintained a part-time solo practice focused on the kinds of largely transactional services I offer on the homepage, although in addition I have done significant academic research for a law professor client.
Although I’ve always kept my practice relatively small, I did other work simultaneously, such as freelance journalism, being the Executive Director of North Fork Promotion Council, and being the Recording Secretary of the Mattituck Park District. For four of those years, my practice was minimal (though not nonexistent) as I also worked full time as Legislative Counsel for the Voting Rights Lab.
